On my lonely stretch of tile kitchen countertop, the gnats come to die.
I don't know why they choose my counter as their final resting place. Could it be they are attracted by the whiteness of the tile, perhaps mistaking it for the "white light" of eternity? Or do come to the sink as watering hole, then decide it is a good day to die?
And where are they the rest of the year? What is so special about June, please? I do not, in fact, know if they even are "gnats." They are tiny, winged things that die by the hundreds every day, either on the sticky glue pad of my high-tech FlyWeb light (Honestly! How is it possible to attract even more of them?) or in random splendor all across the countertop and in the sink.
Terminix does not "do" winged insects, oh no, but they will sell you a FlyWeb light and as many replacement glue pads as you would care to purchase.
How nice.
