If you added GetSheila to your favorites in Technorati, the old link is gone and you will need to re-favorite the new link. Sorry about that.
I mentioned my problems with Technorati back in November when I switched this blog's search feature to Google search. Well Google search is not that great so I decided to give Technorati another try. Guess what? It still sucks. Here is why:
- Technorati is unresponsive. Technorati did they not resolve the problem I mentioned in my November post that I was having with my originally claimed blog http://getsheila.typepad.com/getsheila. But then, how could they when they did not bother to respond to my technical support request nor any of my follow-ups?
- Technorati search only half-way works now. I decided to claim my new URL (http://www.getsheila.com) in Technorati to see if that would take care of the problem. I was able to claim the new URL, but when you use the Technorati widget to search this blog, it appears you only get results within the posts I made since I switched to the new domain name. (Just so you know, I started having my problems with my old URL before I redirected traffic to the new domain name. It was one of the reasons for switching, actually.)
- Technorati is unresponsive - Part Deux: I have yet to hear from Technorati regarding the problem I am having claiming my Medium Dreams blog, also mentioned in my November post. I have contacted them numerous times. b5media big-wigs have contacted them. No response. Is Technorati in trouble? Are they falling apart as a company, with technical support the first thing to go? What other reason could they have for being completely unresponsive?
So the search feature on GetSheila is Technorati again, but it will not find all of my blog posts. I have tried to make my Archives user-friendly, so please scroll through those if you do not find what you are looking for with Search. I am so sorry.
If you know of a good blog search I can add here to my Typepad blog, please let me know. I will switch in a heartbeat.
